Frequently Asked Questions
How do you find the experiment you want?
Expand the fields and units in ‘Find Experiments’ on the left. You can also search by experiment name, concept appearing in the description, or field name. On your phone, click ‘Find Experiment’ under the top menu to open the search box.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
You don't need it. All experiments currently provided can be used without installation, membership registration, or payment.
The experiment screen does not move.
Make sure JavaScript is allowed and try opening again in the latest Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Some experiments require you to press the ‘Next Step’ or Start Experiment button to proceed. If the problem persists, please email us your experiment address and browser information.
There is no sound or I want to turn it off.
You can turn sound effects on and off with the speaker button at the top of the experiment. Due to browser policy, sound may not be played before the first operation. Please also check the mute settings on the device itself.
Are experiment records saved?
Experiment inputs and results stay on the current page and reset when you reload or close it. Use the Save results button at the top to download measurements as CSV and graphs as PNG. Complete your measurements and press Record, then save the files before closing the page.
Can I use it as class material?
You can share the site link in your studies and classes and cite the screen by citing the source. Redistribution or commercial use of all materials is prohibited. Terms of usePlease check and contact us.

Simulations simplify conditions to demonstrate concepts. Please first check the assumptions and limitations below the experiment. If you suspect an error in the description or calculation, please send us your conditions and observations and we will review them.
